Two women, two different stories, Penelope and Helen. Women possessing beauty, not just in the outside but also in the inside. A factor that captivated a lot of men especially Paris and Menelaus- Helen; and Odysseus- Penelope. These two ladies have things in common like beauty, being compassionate but they still have differences. They both loved someone, married their respective husband, but their degree of being loyal and keeping their vows are different. I could say that Penelope is a loyal wife to Odysseus. Even though her husband was away from her arms, she still managed to keep her promise as a wife. Many years of waiting passed and many suitors came to her kingdom in belief that the king of Ithaca was dead. They came from different kingdoms and countries and spent a lot of time just to arrive at Ithaca. Penelope entertained her suitors but the hope that her husband is still alive and will return was still there. That showed her loyalty to Odysseus, unlike Helen, a woman married to Menelaus, still managed to go with Paris back to Troy. If a person is married, there is a tie between the two, and Helen broke that tie by going with Paris. Menelaus was left, loveless, and wanted his wife back. Then a war broke out just because of a simple reason. I could say that Helen's loyalty is not that much of Penelope's.
